One of the benefits of being a photographer in Covington is the number of incredible shooting locations. When the Wilson's asked me to photograph their super-sonic grandson, Damien, in their backyard I was excited. See, their "backyard" is an oasis of acreage that includes forests, pastures, stables, a gazebo and a beautiful hillside home. It's no wonder they're offering it as a venue for weddings.
Damien and I are both card carrying members of the Curly Red-Head Club of America, so we hit it off instantly. However, Damien is also a member of the Boundless Energy Society of Georgia, to which my membership was revoked many, many, many years ago. Besides offering me some great photo opportunities, he gave me a week's worth of cardio training in the span of two hours.
Luckily, for me, we took time-out for snacks and music. The only thing I love more than watching kids explore music is watching kids explore music while I'm not chasing them. =)
Of course, it didn't take long before Damien declared that we were Power Rangers and I was led off for a top-secret intergalactic space mission. Or, hide-and-seek as we used to call it.
One of my favorite shots of the day was this quiet moment...
It was almost time for me to go, but I still had time to check out Damien's dinosaurs and have a little fun with an open window on the Wilson's beautiful porch.
A big thanks to Mike and Nancy Wilson, Natalie Wilson and most of all, Damien, for a fun-filled morning on their amazing property in Oxford.
